Black to NTR invites you to participate in Multi Day Summer Family Camp.
This Years Fam Camp will provide you with two areas of focus and training. The first half of the camp experience will be dedicated to hands on appications with Surthrival Basics skill sets. The second half of the camp will be dedicated to some personal defense training and applications.
While this camp provides you with a unique outdoor experience and training, it is not just for the outdoors only. You will definitely embrace skillsets that can be applied to your everyday lifestyle ...
The opportunities provided at this camp is to benefit individuals and family groups in multiple areas of training while building some Surthrival Skill Sets. This camp is for those that are ready to take their preparedness mindset and abilities to the next level.
The sessions that are being provided at this camp each have their own degree of challenges and levels of participation. Overall both sessions are appropriate for beginners/intermediate as well as experienced persons. Each session is geared towards specific training aspects and is to provide the opportunity to learn, enhance and continue to build upon.
Choose your length of Stay based on the two main sessions and brief descriptions provided below:
Come out for Session One - Surthrival Basics Skill Sets Training which takes place between Aug 6 - 8
This session is a Family friendly but may present some challenges to indiviuals/families with children under 12yrs of age that never have been in outdoors settings. It is still a great learning platform for all to participate and learn from collectively.
- Tues. Aug 6 - Thur. Aug 8 - Arrive on Aug. 6th for Session One orientation and scheduling. Then begin your Surthrival Basics Skill Sets training which takes place on Aug 7 & 8. The range of activities that you will engage in includes Shelter building, Site management, Fire prepareation techniques, Food/Water management and additional hands on applications.
Come out for Session Two - Personal Defense & Tactics Training which takes place between Aug 8 - 10
This session will actively engage you in areas of hands on self defense applications and various weapons and firearms training aspects for home and personal protection. There will be age appropriate training and instruction provided for youth 12 - 17yrs of age aside from the adult activities which is from 18 and up. Participation in this session includes both instructional and hands on applications.
- Thurs. Aug 8 - Sat. Aug. 10 - Arrive on Aug. 8 as camp activities continue to unfold, Session Two will also begin with orientation and scheduling. On Aug. 9th and 10th your indept Personal Defense training takes place. Activities to be included in this session will encompass Situational Awareness, Empty hands Self Defense, and hands on Weapons Training which will include knife skills, archery, firearms tactics, and more...
You can also select both sessions and engage in a full impact experience from Aug 6 - 11.
A we close out our camping activities you will have the added benefit of participating in our Fam Camp Karamu on Aug 11.
- Sun. Aug 11 - Fam Camp Karamu. We close out camp activities with a group meal that is provided by your host allowing you to unwind before traveling home. This is also a great time to meet with some Community Elders, and a time to make some cultural and indigenous connections and to build and network with others.

Booking Types
The booking types shown apply to the two sessions that are being offered. They can be booked individually or combined as a full camp opportunity.
In order to make this convenient to all participants, There will be two booking types (tickets) with options that you can select whether it is for individual adults or for individual youth.
All Children under 12 accompanying an Adult or Family member are Free of Charge!
Ticket sales for this event will begin April 14, 2024 an end on July 21, 2024

All youth under 18 must be accompanied by Parent/Guardian.
There ar no age restrictions for children to attend the camp.
Parents discretion to be applied, based on degree of activities looking to be engage in.

Ready to Camp?
Then here are a few things for you to consider.
What you must bring:
- Please be prepared to have any food/drink and snacks for your stay
- Be ready with appropriate clothing and foot wear for all activities, as well as for expected/unexpected weather conditions
- Also have relax/comfort footwear, back up socks and clothing
- Have appropriate Toiletry and Medicines as needed
- Bring personal protection - eye protection, ears protection, head covering, boots & gloves for activities - especially for firearms training
- You are welcomed to bring personal tools/gear that you may be comfortable with or want to try out
- Bring your own personal camping items like tents*, hammocks, lights and other gear
- Bug Lotion/Spray, dont forget it!
What is provided for you:
- Water will be provided by your host for your cooking, hydration and hygeine.
- There will be porta johns, hand wash stations and showers on site.
- Fire pits and Grills will be provided as needed based on cooking needs and activities
- Archery bows, Firearms and ammo**
* For those that do not have, or need Tents/Ground cover & Sleeping bags, they can be rented based on availability.
** There is an added cost for ammo, use of firearms, needed supplies and training material that is a part of Session Two and will be made available to all active participants provided by your host. You are encouraged to BYOG and ammo that can be used as part of the training aspects but it will not change the additional cost that is applied to this part of the event (Extra live fire time and use of your own ammo may be available to you pending active schedule). The firearms training will incorporate handgun and rifle/shotgun applications used during the firearms training session. If you are bringing your own firearm and need to have ammo available to you, then you would need to specify the type of caliber needed no later than 3 weeks prior to the camp time and schedule.

Non Camper Pass for Sun Aug 11
This ticket is valid for non-camper participation in the Fam Camp Karamu presentations and group activities held on Sunday only -- Aug. 11 -- Between 11 am - 4 pm. Includes food and drinks as part of group meal provided for campers and guest. Refer to the Event Schedule for a listing of proposed activities/workshops.
